DJ José Sanchez
His journey as a DJ began on radio, introducing listeners to new sounds and releases on Bel Valley Radio in Luxembourg. In 1996, he moved behind the decks and started playing vinyl in bars and clubs across Luxembourg City. After taking a few years away from DJing, he returned to Luxembourg’s club scene in 2009 with a musical identity increasingly shaped by house, tribal and progressive beats.
Today, his sound is closely connected to the international club and LGBTQ+ scene, with a particular influence from the aesthetics of the Spanish circuit. Energetic house, tribal percussion, progressive beats and circuit tracks come together in sets designed to evolve throughout the night and create momentum on the dancefloor.
Over the years, he has performed at numerous LGBTQ+ events across Europe, from Brussels and Paris to Madrid and Rome. Highlights include headlining Paris Bear Pride, several appearances at Rome’s Bear Mondays and a two-year residency in Brussels.
For him, however, DJing has never been about simply working through a predefined playlist. A set is shaped by the crowd: how people react to a track, a transition or a change in intensity determines where the music goes next. Reading the room and building that connection with the dancefloor are at the heart of his approach.
That philosophy extends beyond music. He sees sound, lighting and technical production as different elements of the same club experience. Working closely with light jockeys and technicians allows the music and visual atmosphere to develop together, creating the right setting for the crowd to fully experience the moment.
Whether performing at a club in Luxembourg or an international festival, his goal remains the same: read the crowd, build the energy of the night and create an experience that is felt as much as it is heard.
